Sound Medicine for the Heart Space

Energy Healer, L. Farrah Furtado (Usui Reiki 3rd degree) and Musician/Doctor of Natural Medicine @jerometruman created this sound bath as a healing balm for the Heart chakra and used a base frequency of 341hz to produce its’ effects.

128 Hertz, 256 Hertz and 512 Hertz frequencies were also placed to create this piece: SOUND MEDICINE-HEART CHAKRA

Musician @Dominique_sings assisted in this piece by adding Rose Quartz long tones ~using rare Crystal Bowls originating from Arizona~

Rose Quartz is traditionally used for healing the Anahata heart space as well as overall good emotional feeling. We combined the Tibetan Bowls and Rose Quartz to produce a profound and palpable effect on the heart center; the inner space associated with your emotions, compassion, patience and love nature.

This Binaural Beat sound bath can help prepare you for bedtime for deeper sleeps or for a Heart-ANAHATA Cleansing or for a Positive Energy Boost depending on what your personal intent is.

Reiki was infused to this audio by L. Farrah Furtado while the Rose Quartz Crystal singing bowl sessions were recorded in Victoria, BC-Canada.

Binaural beats, or binaural tones is an auditory illusion perceived when two different pure-tone sine waves, both with frequencies lower than 1500 Hz are presented to a listener dichotically, the listener will perceive the auditory illusion of a third tone, in addition to the two pure-tones presented. The third sound is called a binaural beat.

Science suggests that binaural beats help induce relaxation, meditation, creativity and other desirable mental states. The effect on the brainwaves depends on the difference in frequencies of each tone. In this particular recording we use frequencies of the Delta and Theta range which will induce deep meditation, relaxation, NREM sleep, deep dreamless sleep and loss of body awareness. During NREM, the brain waves on the electroencephalographic (EEG) recording are typically slow and of high voltage, the breathing and heart rate are slow and regular, the blood pressure is low, and the sleeper is relatively still.

Scientific research suggests that Binaural Beats influences the brain through the entrainment of brainwaves and provide other health benefits such as control over pain. The brain produces a phenomenon resulting in low-frequency pulsations in the amplitude and sound localization of a perceived sound; two tones at slightly different frequencies.

The Ashtanga Opening Mantra or Invocation is sung by Ashtanga Vinyasa instructor, L. Farrah Furtado; certified student of BNS Iyengar-last living link to this pure paradigm of yoga originating in Mysore, India -lineage of Krishnamacharya, the Father of Modern Yoga. This is an ancient, sacred invocation and is sung in one of the oldest languages; Sanscrit. This mantra is a blessing of gratitude offered to the lineage of teachers and their students who have enabled the ancient practice of Yoga to survive through thousands of years so that we can experience its powerful healing benefits today.

The recitation of this mantra cleanses the energy of the outer physical space, as well as preparing the mind, body and emotions for the forthcoming Ashtanga yoga sequence. The act of chanting mantras elevates the consciousness of the individual and triggers a tuning into a higher level-closer to its Source and taps into a consecrated space within.

The inspiration and initial idea to create this sound bath came through in a mantra class for our students during the 200-hour yoga teacher training in Tainan, Taiwan. I envisioned students listening to this as a way to practice the Ashtanga opening chant and for meditation, self-reflection, pranayama ( breathing techniques), Reiki and journaling in a new way.

Essentially, it is all the artists’ joint effort and intent to share this sound bath for a healing balm for the Heart center and the effect will increase the more times one listens to this sound medicine.

This Binaural Beat can also be used for instructors’ background music for yoga classes for example during Shavasana, Yoga Nidra meditations or yoga home practice…

This sound bath is also useful for background music for body workers, energy healers or massage therapist work.

For self-healing practice and to get the most experience out of binaural beats you should be listening with headphones but using a speaker is fine as well.
